AVex convert problem - After about 1-hour recording/converting, the output file size ends up with only 2KB, is it normal?

It's not normal. If you encounter this problem, your video decoder and/or audio decoder might be corrupted, or your DVD disc is scratched, or DVD-ROM is not able to read the disc under the AVex program. Try the following steps:

Double check your "DVD Settings" in the "Options" menu, the AVex program prefers Microsoft DVD Navigator, the Video Decoder and Audio Decoder from the same vendor, e.g., you can either select Microsoft DVD Navigator, Cyberlink Audio Decoder and Cyberlink Video Decoder (version 6+), or Microsoft DVD Navigator, Intervideo Audio Decoder and Intervideo Video Decoder, or Microsoft DVD Navigator, MpegDecoder012 and AC3Filter. Please don't mixed these decoders up.

Make sure your DVD disc is not scratched, damaged, and your DVD-ROM is functioning. Even a DVD movie can be played by the DVD player, it doesn't necessary mean that it can be read by AVex. The spinning speed during converting/recording will still be maximized, thus causing the disc unreadable by AVex; meanwhile, try converting the same DVD movie on another DVD-ROM(preferred new DVD-ROM), see if it is caused by the DVD-ROM. If it can be read by the other DVD-ROM, then you should replace your old DVD-ROM with another one.

Sometimes, if problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the AVex program, DirectX 9.0c, audio decoder and video decoder, and try again.

Please contact support@avex-dvd.com, for further assistance, if none of the above solutions work for you. Please don't forget to add the "C:\temp\avex.elog" as an attachment when you write to the AVex support.
