1. Always use WinDVD player 7 or PowerDVD player 6, then launch the AVex converter, go to menu "Options", choose "DVD Settings", then select "Microsoft DVD Navigator", "Intervideo Video Decoder" and "Intervideo Audio Decoder" in the "DVD Settings" dialog window; or select select "Microsoft DVD Navigator", "Intervideo Video Decoder" and "Intervideo Audio Decoder" in the "DVD Settings" dialog window.
2. Or, you can choose the settings at the medium level, do not try to set up the audio bitrate and video bitrate too high. Meanwhile, reducing the resolution might also help.
3. Sometimes, Macrovision or Ligos might also cause the audio problem, removing these codecs will help.
4. Or, uninstall DirectX 9.0c, and reinstall it. Download and install MpegDecoder-1/2, AC3Filter, and choose "Microsoft DVD Navigator" as DVD navigator, MpegDecoder012 as DVD Video Decoder, AC3Filter as DVD Audio Decoder in the "DVD Settings" dialog. And follow step 2 to configure audio bitrate and video bitrate at medium level, the best setting we've tested is listed of following:
audio: 80kbps
video: 400kbps
resolution: 320x240
