We strongly recommend you use WinDVD player 7 or PowerDVD player 6, then launch the AVex DVD to iPod Video Suite, go to menu "Options", choose "DVD Settings", select "Microsoft DVD Navigator", "Intervideo Video Decoder" and "Intervideo Audio Decoder"; or select select "Microsoft DVD Navigator", "Intervideo Video Decoder" and "Intervideo Audio Decoder" in the "DVD Settings" dialog window.
Or, you can choose the settings at the medium level, do not try to set up the audio bitrate and video bitrate too high. Meanwhile, reducing the resolution might also help.
Sometimes, Macrovision or Ligos might also cause the audio problem, removing these codecs will help.
